Meet the Practitioner

Dr. Amanda Carney is a pediatric occupational therapist who has served the healthcare and education communities for 25 years through her work & volunteer experiences.  She leads with a child & family-centered, neurodiveristy affirming approach that utilizes an in-home model of therapeutic interventions to support children in accessing their daily tasks and environments successfully.  The model extends to include collaboration & interdisciplinary consultation to support the generalization of skills and consistency of approaches across the child's environments (school, other providers, etc.) which provides more opportunities for successful application and retention of skills.

Amanda graduated from the University of St. Augustine in 2013 with her Masters in Occupational Therapy, and then continued on to earn her Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree from USC in 2016, completing a residency focused within advocacy and policy.  She is certificated as an Assistive Technology Specialist, has trained in Craniosacral Therapy, and has completed multiple handwriting, sensory integration and interoception based trainings to advance her knowledge and abilities to best serve her clients.
